Molly Ringwald:
Maybe on the most remembered of the Brat Pack. Molly Ringwald, the redhead that follows Lucille Ball in fame. She loved a million and lost not one of them. Here’s what’s happening with her.
Currently Playing: Molly Ringwald, who lives in New York, is appearing in Darren Star's Big Apple-based drama The $treet as Devyn Alden, the college girlfriend of Jack Kenderson (Tom Everett Scott). Jack also has business dealings with Devyn's tycoon dad, who is murdered in Ringwald's first episode (airing November 1).
Back in the Day: The John Hughes muse began her career in 1979 as Eastland schoolgirl Molly Parker on The Facts of Life. Ringwald then graduated to a host of high school flicks; Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, most memorably, that made her the poster girl for '80s adolescence. The redhead could do no wrong, whether she was freaking out over a forgotten birthday, suffering through Saturday detention or pining for the perfect prom date.
The Missing Years: Ringwald filmed a number of forgettable features before moving to France, where she studied the language of love and met her husband, Valery Lameignère. These days, she spends most of her free time overseas, where, she says, "I am recognized, but obviously not as much as in America. But even if the French recognize a celebrity, they are much less likely to approach them. It's a cultural thing--and something that makes it possible for me to lead a somewhat normal life."
