Local Moroccan officials in Casablanca have refused to grant a permit to Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbi to hold a concert. The officials’ decision came in response to a late request made by the Korean company LG, to organize the concert.
According to the London based Elaph, the official’s decision was influenced by the recent chaos created by Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram’s concert in Marrakech.
A source in Casablanca reported that the decision made by the officials is not the final word regarding Haifa’s performance, and may be negotiable.
Haifa revealed that she intends on filming a new music video, but did not disclose the title of the song.
The singer announced that she will vote in this year’s Lebanese Parliamentary elections and will cast her ballot for Sheikh Saed Al Hariri, son of the late Rafiq Al Hariri.
Haifa stressed that Saed is the best candidate, because he shares many of the good qualities of his late father, which brought him admiration throughout the Arab world.
