Muna Shalabi and Hind Sabri create chaos at a Cairo metro station

As Young Egyptian actress, Muna Shalabi and Tunisian actress, Hind Sabri entered a Cairo metro station for filming, chaos ensued as passengers began pushing and shoving to try and get a glimpse of the stars.

 

Filming of the metro scene for their upcoming film, “Banat Wast Al Balad” (Downtown Girls), was delayed until the director was able to organize the metro security guards to control the crowds.

 

The film, directed by Mohammad Khan and produced by Mohammad Zein, revolves around two female, working class friends, and the obstacles they face in their struggle to survive. The issues of how poorer, working class people deal with emotional and social problems are central themes of the film.

 

The remaining cast includes Egyptian actor Izzat Abu Ouf, Khaled Abu Al Najja, Ahmad Budair, Mohammad Najati, and Majda Al Khateeb, who were all were present for the scene.

 

Muna has denied rumors that a dispute occurred between her and Hind over the leading role, “Istighmamieh,” for which Muna was nominated. Hind was initially nominated when the film was only a purposed project.
