Muna Shalabi defends the innocent
Young Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi has recently returned from <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />London where she was on vacation with her mother, resigned actress Zizi Mustafa. Upon her return the actress began reading the script of her upcoming film “Syadet Al Qanoon Fi Ijaza” (Men of Law on Vacation).
In the new film, Muna plays the role of a lawyer, who takes on the case of two young men accused of stealing jewels from a wealthy woman, but in fact, they are innocent of such a crime. Muna revealed that she will not be taking part in any plays this season and has already turned down an offer for two.
Recently, Shalabi expressed her disappointment at the manner she was presented in the advertising posters of her latest film “El Said Arabi Wasal” (Mr. Arab Arrived), stressing that her photo looks as if it is a different actress and not her. Muna added that her image in the posters makes it very difficult for people to identify her.
Muna also criticized the size of her name on the credits of the film, saying it does not suit her achievements in the cinema, especially since it’s the same size as the name of the American actress Laila, who is making her first appearance. The incidents have angered Muna causing her to purposely be absent from all celebrations held for the film.
