Directly after Eid El Fitr (Islamic end of Ramadan holiday) is over, Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi is scheduled to begin shooting the scenes for her upcoming film “Afrita Wa 3 Shaiatin” (A Jenie and Three Devils). Muna is to costar in the film alongside Ahmed Eid, Sallah Abdullah, ‘Ala Mursi, Hassan Husni, Izzat Abu Ouf, Rja’ Jiddawi, and Ramez Jalal.
According to the London based Elaph, Muna will be playing the role of a very adventurous, bold girl who meets three guys who share with her the same hobbies. The four of them go through redcap and comic situations throughout the film bringing them closer to one another.
The movie is directed by Ahmad Sa’da who said that he has chosen Muna due to the fact that she has proven outstanding success and confidence in her acting career and it has showed in her last works. The entire cast will be flying to Sharm El Sheikh to shoot the outer scenes of the movie while the rest will be filmed in Cairo.
Shalabi has announced that due to her rising popularity, she will be doubling her wage to reach 400 thousand Egyptian pounds per film. The actress has already received over 7 different film scripts in order to choose which one suits her most.
It was revealed that by doubling her wage, Muna will be paid a higher price than that given to prominent Egyptian actresses Laila Elwi, who received 350 thousand Egyptian pounds for her last film, and Hanan Turk who got 300 thousand pounds for her role in the film "Hub El Banat" (Girls Romance). The Qatar based daily, Al Raya, reported that Muna was named the star of this summer's films, in which she played the leading role in three different movies that witnessed enormous success.
Shalabi has proven her capabilities as an actress through taking part in many different cinematic and TV works that found great success among viewers. The actress has announced that she has finally been chosen by director Othman Abu Laban for her first leading role in a new film "Kawalees" (Backstage).
Muna revealed that the new film will be the first directing experience for Othman and has a budget of 5 million Egyptian pounds and is written by scenarist Mohammad Hifthi. The film revolves around a story of four good friends who suddenly encounter big problems that lead them to separate due to becoming overly jealous of one another.
Muna stressed that the film presents a new experience for her marking the first step in her journey to fame. She added that her role in the film is different from all the other roles she has so far played proving that she is able to take on such responsibilities.
Shalabi has resumed her acting career after recovering from an operation she underwent recently. Muna is currently shooting the scenes for her upcoming TV drama series "Al Banat" (The Girls) alongside Omar Al Hariri as well as a large number of prominent Egyptian actors in the very near future. –Albawaba.com
