Young Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi has revealed that she does not seek leading roles in films, plays, or television that are written specifically to suit her character. The actress stressed that it is too early in her career for such roles and she only wants to concentrate on roles that leave a mark and meet the satisfaction of her audience.

According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Muna noted that the reason behind her absence from television this past year is due to the fact that the roles she was offered did not suit her and she did not want to ruin the success she had achieved from her participation in past television series.

Muna had recently encountered an emotional shock that led to a deterioration of her health forcing her to be kept bedridden for a few days at hospital. Muna refused to give any information to anyone regarding her condition and attributed a very bad diet spending her entire time smoking nonstop, which caused her blood pressure to drop drastically.

Muna’s condition led her mother to immediately take her to one of the private hospitals to get the care she needed and doctors advised her to quit smoking and begin following a healthy diet.  Muna’s mother also refused to give any details regarding her daughter’s condition simply saying that she had advised her daughter to concentrate on her acting career, which is the one thing that will benefit her in the end.
