Muna Shalabi willing to accept seductive roles

Egyptian actress Muna Shalabi stressed that she does not mind taking part in works that require her to be in some ways seductive especially if the scene implies it. She added that many Egyptian actresses had done these roles before and yet were not accused to be indecent. Muna concluded that she was very convincing when taking part in such roles that people began to believe it was her nature. 

 

According to the London based daily, Al Hayat, Muna revealed that she is capable of performing any role given to her, stressing her strong talent for acting. The actress noted that she has come a long way of making a name for herself in the cinema and on TV, a matter which led to many producers and directors to seek her out and present her with numerous offers for different acting jobs.  

 

Muna revealed that the reason her TV drama “Albanat” (Girls) did not witness success was due to the fact that it did not anything new to Arab drama and the story it tackled was a common one. She added that during the beginning of her career, she accepted small roles, but now she is very picky about what she chooses feeling that she has a big responsibility towards her fans. 

 

Muna also talked about her new movie “Ahla Alawqat” (Quality Time), saying that she liked the role and that’s why she agreed to do it. Her role revolves around an ordinary girl who evolves tight friendship with the star of the movie. 

 

Muna denied agreeing in taking part in an Arab American film that states Jerusalem as capital of Israel. Adding that she does not like to talk about politics but she does not agree with what Israel doing to Palestinian people.  

 

Muna from her side disclosed to the media that she had received a phone call from an assistant director telling her that she was nominated for a role in an international movie revolving around tolerance between religions. The actress stressed that she had requested the director to send her the script first so she can read it over carefully before giving any answer.  

 

Muna added that she would never take part in any work that would not agree with her Arab and national ethics and beliefs. She noted that the mere thought of being part of such a lies upsets her terribly.  

 

Muna is scheduled to begin shooting the scenes for her upcoming film “Afrita Wa 3 Shaiatin” (A Jenie and Three Devils), and will costar alongside Ahmed Eid, Sallah Abdullah, ‘Ala Mursi, Hassan Husni, Izzat Abu Ouf, Rja’ Jiddawi, and Ramez Jalal.  

 

Muna will be playing the role of a very adventurous, bold girl who meets three guys who share with her the same hobbies. The four of them go through redcap and comic situations throughout the film bringing them closer to one another.  

 

The movie is directed by Ahmad Sa’da who said that he has chosen Muna due to the fact that she has proven outstanding success and confidence in her acting career and it has showed in her last works. The entire cast will be flying to Sharm El Sheikh to shoot the outer scenes of the movie while the rest will be filmed in Cairo.  

 

Shalabi has announced that due to her rising popularity, she will be doubling her wage to reach 400 thousand Egyptian pounds per film. The actress has already received over 7 different film scripts in order to choose which one suits her most. –Albawaba.com
