Muna Zaki’s grief

Young Egyptian actress Muna Zaki is grieving the death of her aunt, her mother’s sister, with whom she was very close. Muna had been personally taking care of her aunt who was suffering from cancer, and even accompanied her on one of her trips to Paris for treatment.

 

According to the London based Elaph, Muna recently returned from the religious pilgrimage, Hajj, which she went on with her husband, actor Ahmad Hilmi.

 

Muna’s latest film was “Dam Ghazal” (Deer’s Blood), which she starred in alongside prominent Egyptian actors Nour El Sharif and Yusra.

 

Muna has been nominated for the leading role in the new film “Ilaka Baree’a” (An Innocent Relationship). The film, directed by Amir Shaker and written by Mohammad Aziz, revolves around how the internet influences younger generations, even leading them into become involved in intimate relationships online.

 

Muna plays the wife an officer who becomes preoccupied with his work and rarely spends time with her, leading her to become involved in an innocent online relationship with a foreigner. The film tackles the addiction people develop to chatting on the internet.

 

Muna has refused to change her appearance for her upcoming film "Al Ishiq Wal Hawa" (About Love and Romance). She was able to convince the producer that she has the ability to play her character well, a singer and pianist, without having to make drastic alterations.  The film is a fated love story, directed by Kamelah Abu Thikri and set to the backdrop of a romantic musical score.
 
She and actor Ahmad Al Sakka have been reunited in the film after a three-year separation. The film also costars Muna Shalabi and Ghada Abdul Rizik.
