Muna Zaki fears confronting lover with her disability
The producers of the film "Min Awal Nathra" (At First Sight), previously known as "Hub Ala El Internet" (Love on the Internet), starring Egyptian actress Muna Zaki, Mustafa Shaban and a number of new faces, have postponed shooting of the scenes and reversals due to the US-led war on Iraq and the unstable conditions, especially economically speaking.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, director of the film Majid Majdi, who will be directing for the first time in his life, was scheduled to begin shooting scenes two weeks ago, but the war halted all activities.
In the film Muna plays the leading role of a gifted but handicapped piano player who falls in love with a young man her age after chatting with him over the Internet. But the fear of her new love finding out she has a disability and leaving her, Muna avoided all his requests to a meeting in which they will meet each other for the first time.
Zaki accepted her first leading role in a new film “Khalti Faranca” (Aunt Franca) with Egyptian actress Abla Kamil, in an attempt to come out of the depression caused by reoccurring problems with her husband Ahmad Hilmi.
“Khalti Franca” written by Bilal Fadil and directed by Ali Ragab, will also star Amro Wakid, Hajaj Abdul Atheem, and Maha Amar. Muna will begin shooting of scenes is to begin during mid-March, to be able to prepare for a second film directed by Majid Majdi she is to star in with Mutafa Sha’ban.
On a different not, rumors of a possible divorce for Zaki and Ahmad Hilmi’s has filled Egyptian streets and tabloids. The couple’s problems have reached a point where continuing their marriage vows is impossible. After a number of matrimonial disputes have recently took over their lives after only one year into their marriage. Their problems have been increasing as days pass by leading Muna to leave her husband and return to her mother home to spend some time away from Hilmi.
Some people claim that the reason behind all their problems is the fact that Ahmad feels it’s time for them to enter the world of parenthood, a matter which Muna refuses saying its too early in her career. It was added that Muna feared that by having a baby this early in her acting career, she would not be able to receive anymore-leading roles in films. Muna’s family denied that childbearing is not the reason behind their problems and in fact there are a number of issues which the couple is not able resolve. –Albawaba.com
