The upcoming film “Taymour and His Sister,” starring Egyptian actors Muna Zaki and Ahmad Al Sakka, is facing numerous setbacks.
The cast of the film are scheduled to travel to the Ukraine to film several scenes that were supposed to be filmed in South Africa. The change in location has meant changing the script, postponing the film’s release.
According to the London based Elaph, the film is written by Tamer Habib, directed by Khaled Mar’ee, and produced by production company ‘Al Massa,’ the same company that produced Muna and Ahmad’s previous film, “An Al Ishik Wal Hawa” (About Love and Romance).
Muna was furious after she recently discovered that photographs of her only daughter Lili were splashed across tabloid pages. Private family photographs of Muna and her husband and daughter, taken by photographer ‘Chico,’ were made public without Muna’s consent.
‘Chico’ filed a lawsuit against the journalist who allegedly stole the photographs, charging that the journalist collaborated with the security guard at his office to steal the photographs.
Muna has backed out of a recent decision to star in the new television drama “Haneen wa Hannan” alongside prominent Egyptian actor Omar El Sharif. Muna said that she is preoccupied with the film (Taymour and his sister), also starring Ahmad Al Sakka, Hala Fakher and Raja Al Jadawi.
Muna’s decision forced director Enas Baker to postpone filming until her replacement, newcomer Mariam is prepared to play the role.
Muna is also preparing for a new film “Aswar Al Qamar” (Fences of the Moon), produced by Waleed Sabri, written by Mohammad Hifthi, and directed by Tareq Al Arian.
