The famous Egyptian actress Muna Zaki expressed her shock and disapproval over the amount of money that the famous Lebanese singer Haifa Wahbe will be paid for her role in the new Egyptian film “Dukan Shahateh” (Shahateh’s Supermarket).
Haifa will receive a sum of 6 million Egyptian pounds.
Zaki said, “Jealousy between people from the same country made some go outside of Egypt to find stars to replace Egyptian stars.”
Zaki does believe that Haifa has the right to request that amount of money.
Zaki mocked the producer of the film, stating, “Ask the producer who has found such a person with such incredible talents why he chose Haifa?”
Zaki said that she does not care for money and what is important to her is the work itself. She said that she is a big spender and that money was created for spending not for collecting.
Zaki also said that if any producer ever offered her this amount of money she would be skeptical, because it is not within the normal range of salaries for similar actresses in the industry.
On other grounds, Zaki has agreed with her husband the Egyptian actor Ahmad Helmi to travel to Mecca in Saudi Arabia to make “Omrah,” a small pilgrimage during the last part of the holy month of Ramadan. Zaki will also take her mother to Mecca and will dedicate her “Omrah” to her late father Dr. Ali Muhammad Al Sayed Zaki. She is still mourning his death.
