A court in the Egyptian coastal City of Alexandria has issued a verdict stating that Mustafa Amar is innocent of the accusation against him saying that the singer has beaten two girls last year.
Amar was previously convicted in the same case with a two-week jail by a lower degree court. The case, going back to last year, states that two girls accused the renowned singer and others of beating them after storming in their apartment they own in a building owned by the singer’s father.
The girls said that the singer and his friends came to beat them over disputes between the girls and the father.
Earlier, tenants of the building informed the prosecutor general of the alleged assault on the girls due to a problem in the installation of a booster station for the mobile network. Upon investigation, Amar’s father said he was in Cairo when the squabble took place and he was not involved in it.
The singer contested the sentence handed against him and after review by the court of appeal he was considered innocent.
Back in May, Amar has reiterated his concern and fear of the TV drama he will star in “Wa Hallakat al Toyoor Nahwa al Sharq” (Birds Headed Towards East). “I couldn’t resist the story of the series when the director Hani Ismael offered it to me,” Amar told the daily al Gomhuria.
On the big screen, the movie “Qalb Garie” (Brave Heart) marks the recent cinema work for the singer-actor Amar. – Albawaba.com
