Filming of “Isabit Al Daktour Omar” (Dr. Omar’s Gang) starring Egyptian singer Mustafa Amar has been postponed to an unknown time, after Egyptian actor Muna Shalabi suddenly withdrew. She apologized and said her departure was due to her preoccupation with another new film with actor Karim Abdul Aziz.
According to the London based Elaph, Muna had already signed a contract for the other film and preferred to continue, especially after the success she achieved with Karim in their previous film.
The film is to be directed by Ali Idrees and Mustafa, the same charismatic duo that produced the film “Hareem Kareem” (Kareem’s Woman). The screenplay was written by Zeinab Aziz.
Overtures were made to Lebanese singer/actor Nicole Saba to take Muna’s role, but no agreement was reached since she is also shooting another film.
