Exclusive: Myriam "Tinker Bell" Fares talks about her Dubai Peter Pan debut
Lebanese singer and actress Myriam Fares will make her debut on the Dubai stage on Wednesday in the premier of the musical Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story.
In an interview with Al Arabiya News, the 30-year-old expressed her happiness to be taking part in the biggest international musical that ever came to the Middle East.
“It feels very nice to be chosen to participate in something huge like Peter Pan,” Fares said.
“Especially that I will be playing Tinkerbell, the role I wanted and that it is the biggest musical that ever came to the whole MENA region,” she added.
The Peter Pan musical will features 50 dancers, stuntmen, acrobats, magicians, and actors from over 10 countries and sing the song You Raise Me Up for which the Lebanese actress was given the exclusive rights.
Fares’ performance coincides with the announcement of her new Lebanese-Egypt drama series, set to debut during Ramadan.
“For the first time I am going to enter the drama world as I am going to start shooting my series that you will be seeing in Ramandan,” Fares said.
The multi-talented Lebanese star is also working on new original music.
Speaking about other upcoming projects, Fares said: “I will release my new album soon as I finished recording all my songs,” and added she anticipates the filming of two accompanying videos.
The show “Peter Pan: The Never Ending Story,” is a mixture of theatre, illusion, circus, and part block-buster movie, is set to be staged at the Dubai World Trade Center as part of its world arena tour.
Based on Scottish author sir James Matthew Barrie’s children classic published in the early 1900’s, the show aims to transport its audience into a magical world through its wire-less flying stunts by no less than Peter Pan himself.
Fans of Peter Pan and Wendy are up for a lot of dramatic high-flying scenes as the show will run from the March 5-13.
