Nabila Obeid waiting for the right moment to reconcile with Yusra
Disputes between people in the entertainment world have come to be very typical with many taking extreme measures with one another. Egyptian actress Nabila Obeid has been known to have had been in a number of disputes with some of her colleagues leading her to stop all forms of communication with them.
According to the London based magazine, Laha, Nabila previously was involved in a clash with Egyptian actresses Yusra and Nadia Al Jundi, each for different reasons. Many tabloids have written about both incident and in some instances exaggerating what had happened. Over the time, Nabila has come to peaceful terms with Nadia and is now talking to her on a regular basis.
With regards to her relationship with Yusra, Nabila stressed that problems between them have not yet been resolved but both women make it a point to act civilly when they accidentally run into one another. Nabila revealed that she holds no grudges against Yusra and hopes one day they become friends once more.
On their part Nadia and Yusra stressed that the main reason behind their disputes with Nabila is caused by the media. Both women said they hold no form of dislike towards Nabila and hope in fact to join together as one strong team.
The Kuwaiti Censorship Committee has banned the screening of Nabila’s new film “Qasaqees Al Ushaq” (Tales of Lovers) in all its cinema houses due to the indecency and inappropriateness of scenes. Sheikh Daaig Al Khalifa, member of the committee, has stressed that the film contains too many scenes of Nabila unfit for a respectable Arab audience and therefore the film should not be shown.
Al Khalifa added that in addition to Nabila’s indecent manner in the film, one of the scenes revolves around a Gulf prince in turn giving all gulf countries a bad image. Nabila’s film has been replaced with other films that are more suitable for the Kuwaiti audience.
Obeid is currently experiencing a severe case of depression over the failure of her film, and the very low profit it is bringing in. it was revealed that the film will most probably be removed from a number of cinema houses for the fact that hardly anyone is going to see it.
Nabila noted that the film is a light story that revolves around a dancer who intends to end her active career that includes a number of intimate relationships with men, in which she would take a piece of fabric from everyman’s shirt she is intimate with until she creates a shawl. After her shawl is complete she realizes that the lifestyle she has been leading has become dull and can not be tolerated any longer.
The dancer begins to feel the need to be loved by only one man and to be in a serious relationship away from the deception. While on a vacation the dancer meets the love of her life played by the prominent Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi and so begins their tale.
Nabila had thought that this film would be the ultimate test for her and her cinematic career will depend on it, hoping to enter the summer competition of films and praying that her audience would not let her down. She had also hoped that the hot and intimate scenes written by Waheed Hamid and daringly directed by Said Marzouq would surely help her succeed. -Al Bawaba.com
