Najlaa Fathi ends acting career
Egyptian actress Najlaa Fathi has decided to stop her acting career saying the time has come for her to stop in order to keep the beautiful memories she had throughout her career. She has cancelled all agreements to take part in any new films and TV series and has sent her apologizes to producers and directors.
According to the London based Elaph, Najlaa's last film was "Batal Min Al Junoob" (A Hero from the South) directed by Mohammad Ab Yousif and was filmed in Lebanon. The actress has received a number of awards throughout her acting career, the last being an award from the Rotary club for best Arab actress for the year 2002.
Najlaa is currently living a peaceful and quiet life with her daughter and husband, Hamdi Kandeel. The actress commented that she has given most of her life to acting and the time has come to dedicate the rest of her life to her family and home. Najlaa also announced that she will not be taking part in the film by Samah Anwar in which she was to star in with Omar El Sherif.
A number of close contacts to the actress have been trying on almost a daily bases to convince the actress to return to the spotlight and continue her acting career. But her decision is firm saying that all the offers she has received lately lack the sense of being genuine not adding to her acting career.
On a different note, Najlaa has made it a point to appear less in public occasions and limited herself to the number of events she may attend. She has recently refused all attempts by the media for personal interviews refusing to make any comments. –Albawaba.com
