Najwa Karam, “Life taught me not to trust anyone”
After a 6-year absence from Lebanese radio the famous Lebanese artist Najwa Karam has reappeared on an exclusive interview with the radio station “Rotana Delta.”
The courageous and honest interview surprised many viewers.
According to the London daily Elaph, Najwa said, “Life has taught me not to trust anyone, in order not doubt anyone.”
Najwa said that she can forgive someone, as long as she does not compromise her pride.
Regarding her conflict with the Lebanese journalist Nidal Al Ahmadyeh, Najwa said that she has tried to end the 7-year conflict. Lebanese singer Melhim Barakat also tried to intervene, but was unsuccessful.
Najwa said that when a journalist damages the image of a Lebanese singer it damages the economy of Lebanon. She believes that the economy relies a great deal on its artists.
Najwa did not deny that she is in love, but did not confirm that she will be a bride in 2009.
“Life is hard without love,” said Najwa.
Najwa hopes to be a mother one day, but if that did not happen she will turn to her art and music to satisfy her needs.
Najwa said that her 14-year relationship with ‘Rotana’ has accomplished great success for her, and she would like to add Lebanese singers Melhim Barakat and Majida Al Roumi to ‘Rotana.’
Najwa is grateful for the success that her latest album has accomplished, but has yet to decide for which song she will film a music video clip.
Najwa thanked the host for having her.
