Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram is never afraid of holding concerts in politically-unstable countries, and she most certainly wasn't about to turn down hosting a concert in her hometown Beirut.
The superstar held a concert at the "Eish Al Achrafieh" Festival in Beirut, which was organized by the Achrafieh Merchants Committee to promote tourism in Lebanon.
The festival, which took place on June 28, was initially planned for the week before, but was postponed due to a number of attacks in the Lebanese capital.
However, a patriotic Nancy refused to cancel the event and insisted on celebrating life regardless of what the cirumstances may be, reports Elaph news.
During the concert, Nancy thanked those who made it despite the security attacks currently taking place. She was happy to see Lebanese people leading normal and optimistic lives regardless of what's going on around them.
And because the concert was held on Ramadan eve, Nancy replaced the dress she was planning on wearing with a more conservative outfit instead.
The Lebanese lush will be promoting tourism in Egypt as well, through a concert she's scheduled to hold in early August.
“Where there's a celebration of joy, optimism and life, I'll be there and happy to perform. Egypt is very dear to me like children are to their mother. With great joy I tell the world ‘Egypt will remain dear to us all’,” said the songstress.
Nancy added that her remark “Egypt will remain dear to us all” deserves to be a title of a new song.
Knowing her, that could well be the title of her next hit single!
