Elissa and Nancy take to Twitter for the Beirut bombings
Amidst the chaos in Lebanon over the weekend, one thing could be counted on to remain the same: the country's celebrities would be out on their Twitter and Facebook accounts in force as there is no better time to tweet than after a national tragedy.
The two Levantine beauties - Nancy Ajram and Elissa - did not disappoint and proclaimed outrage about the loss of life. Nancy took the tack of sympathizing with the families of those who were killed: "My deepest condolences to the families of the victims of this terrible violence! God protect and help Lebanon and its people,” she wrote.
While Elissa chose to direct her anger at the perpetrators: “What a tragic day, to have pure and innocent lives killed. People who do not deserve to die are murdered at the hands of those that do not deserve to live,” she tweeted.
The scantily clad songstress added that one day of national mourning was not nearly enough for her: "Is this the price of the lives of innocent people?! No people’s lives are worth much more,” she squeaked. It may not have given any comfort to the families of those lost in the attack but it certainly added to the social media debate.
