The Egyptian Production Company has already begun taking on different measures with the start of the New Year aiming to produce better quality films that will surely bring in large profits. The company has taken on the initiative of producing more films that are of high standards presenting a positive outlook towards the Egyptian cinema.
According to the London based Elaph, Mamdouh Al Laithi, head of the cinema organization, said that the rise of the company's capital, which has reached 300 million EGP, a large number of films will be produced that will revive Egyptian cinema that are of excellent quality, adding that this year they will be producing ten movies. Among the first movies to be produced will be "Rasael Bahar" (Letters from Sea), written and directed by Daoud Sa’eed. Egyptian prominent actor Ahmad Zaki and Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram have been nominated for the leading role in the film.
The film will mark Nancy's first acting experience and will taking her into a different direction with regards to her career. It was revealed that Nancy has not confirmed her acceptance of the role as negotiations are supposedly in process.
The company also plans on producing the movie "Nisa’ That Al Tajroban" script by Faisal Nada, and to star Mahmoud Abdul Aziz. Another movie, which is going to be produced, is entitled "Kan Yom Hobbak" written by Murad Munir, and directed by Ihab Lam’i, and supposed to be starred by Yusra.
Al Laithi added that it’s the company's duty to produce good movies that would compete in the different world movie festivals, adding that this year Egypt will participate in seven international festivals, which are the Sydney movie festival, 19th Paris movie festival, Hamburg movie festival, Pan Africa movie festival in Los Angeles, and Rotterdam movie festival in Holland. –Albawaba.com
