Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram is scheduled to hold a grand performance at the Cairo Opera House at the end of June in honor of the fortieth anniversary of the founding of the ‘United Artists Band.’
Egyptian comedian/actor Adel Imam will take part in the event by performing scenes from a number of his most popular plays, and will be joined by many of the original cast members.
Recently, Egyptian police arrested a Russian and a Georgian tourist after they robbed Ajram in the city of Sharm El Sheikh, where she was staying last week.
Nancy reported that jewelry worth $30,000, along with $5,000 in cash and two visa credit cards were stolen from her room.
The thieves used the singer's credit cards to purchase large amounts of expensive jewelry, which led the police to them.
Jewelry store owners identified the thieves for the police and they were captured at the airport, attempting to leave Sharm El Sheikh. When their luggage was searched the stolen items were recovered.
