Nancy Ajram & Tamer Hosny say "take that" to Egypt's instability, persisted in performing in Cairo
In defiance of Egypt's unstable conditions, popular singers Tamer Hosny and Nancy Ajram tag-teamed to provide the capital city with a concert they wouldn't forget. The duo showed no fear as they faced a crowd of more than ten thousand fans at Cairo's international stadium for the company "Q Net".
In a time when many celebrities have canceled their gigs inside the politically precarious country, the two carried on with their scheduled concerts, showing their game faces to the region's rockers.
According to the Middle East news portal Elaph, Nancy performed her most popular hits in addition to the song "Ana Masri" (I Am Egyptian) and even shed a few tears over the tragic conditions facing the country.
Nancy expressed her sincere wishes of peace to the nation and its people after she told the press, "I came to tell the world and Egyptians that my heart and voice is with you. Egypt does not deserve less than peace and stability and I give my full support to the dear Egyptian people in their strive to achieve their goals, and I assure everyone Egypt is strong despite everything that is taking place."
The Arab Idol judge Tweeted a pic of her grateful fans with the post, "'I'm blessed to have the best fans in the world!! Love you all... #today#concert#nancyajram#cairo".
Tamer showed a tougher exterior but sang from the heart just the same.
Post-concert, the proud performers hopped on a plane to Lebanon for Tamer to tackle his new project with MBC and Nancy to continue work on her upcoming album, expected to hit stores at the beginning of the New Year. She has filmed two of its songs into music videos, one with director Fadi Haddan and the other with Joe Bu Eid.
