Nawal Al Zoughbi between Dubai and Cairo
Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi has recently headed to Dubai after receiving a personal invitation to take part in the grand opening of a new enormous jewelry store. After Nawal holds her performance in Dubai, she will head to Cairo where she will sing at a wedding for one of Egypt’s elite families.
According to the London based Elaph, Nawal announced that she will return to Dubai once more after Egypt to hold a second concert on December 23, 2004, after which she will head back to Lebanon to begin preparations for her New Years Eve concerts. Nawal will be holding two separate concerts on New Years Eve in Beirut.
The singer is also began working on her new album, but has not found a producing company for it after negotiations with Rotana reached a dead end with both sides refusing to to come to mutual terms. Both sides refused to meet the conditions of one another leading the possibility of their cooperation hopeless.
Rotana refused to agree to Nawal’s condition of not having her songs aired solely on the company’s music channel and give her permission to have all her clips broadcasted on different satellite channels. It was revealed that this main reason was behind Nawal’s breakup with her previous production company Alam El Phan.
Nawal had recently ended her contract with Alam Al-Fan and it was almost confirmed that she will return to her first production company Rotana. Nawal had a meeting with Prince Walid Bin Talal, owner of Rotana, in Beirut during his brief visit to Lebanon.
Nawal had refused to give the details behind the breakup stressing that the matter was settled peacefully with the consent of both parties. The singer did reveal that she is against Alam El Phan's policy of broadcasting the work of its singers on specified channels only, mainly ones owned by them.
