The entertainment world was in shock to discover the news of the breakup between Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi and Lebanese directors Mirna and Tony Abu Elias. No prior mention was made regarding the sudden breakup and no reason was given as to why Nawal no longer wished to work with the well-known duo.
According to the Egyptian based weekly, Al Nogoom, Mirna and Tony had directed most of Nawal’s music videos, which all had brought huge success to the singer. It was also revealed that Nawal has moved to work with director Saeed Al Marouq and is in the process of shooting her first music video with him in Turkey.
Al Zoughbi has decided to put off the release of her upcoming album and any new music video until the month of November. Nawal’s decision came due to the release of so many new albums this summer season. The singer wanted more emphasis to be placed on her album, and so felt postponing it until November will ensure that most of the attention will be focused on it.
Nawal revealed that her new album features ten songs sung in the Lebanese, Egyptian and Khaliji (Gulf) style. The singer has gone back to the classical genre mixing in a touch of traditional Lebanese Tarab. Nawal plans on shooting three songs in the form of a music video in which two are to be filmed in Turkey under the direction of Said Marouq, and the third song, which tells a drama story, under the direction of Salim Turk.
Recently, Nawal was faced with a devastating rumor targeting her family life, a tradition she has become accustomed to before releasing a new album. One year, a rumor about her only daughter Tia circulated all over tabloids, and last year a rumor about the health condition of her twin boys spread all over newspapers and magazines, causing the singer to go into a depression wondering why people would attack her innocent children.
This year the rumor that began circulating targeted the marital status of Nawal and her husband and that the two were facing many problems and are heading towards a divorce. In a personal interview with Nawal's business manager, her husband Elli Deeb, he assured that none of the rumors hold any truth to them and that he and his wife are on excellent terms.
Elli noted that these kinds of rumors keep haunting his wife before every release and they are just a failed attempt to bring her down. Elli stressed that he has not taken on the responsibility of supporting any new singer and that his dedication is for his wife alone. It was also revealed that once Nawal is complete with work on her new album she will venture on choosing a song to film in the form of a video clip to release. –Albawaba.com
