Nawal Al Zoughbi deserts her love for fame

Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi has completed filming her latest single "Shu Akhbarak" (What is Your News), with young director Randa, marking their first cooperation together. Filming took place in Lebanon over a period of two days.

The story of the clip revolves around an artist who is obsessed with her career and achieving fame.  In the clip, the artist receives a fax from a production company notifying her of her acceptance. She immediately must travel to prepare for her first album, leaving her lover at home.

According to the London based Elaph, while she is separated from her love, romantic memories begin to surface in tune with the music and the lyrics of her songs.

“This song is romantic and matches the atmosphere of winter and reflects a beautiful love story,” stated Nawal.  The album is scheduled for release in three months.

The singer revealed that the reason she chose this particular song to release as a single was that it touched her to the point of bringing tears to her eyes when she heard it for the first time.

Nawal was careful in deciding upon the details of the clip, selecting the pictures and colors that she felt were most suitable. The singer hopes that the end result is satisfactory to her fans, who she believes are her number one priority. Nawal stressed that she was very impressed with the Randa’s directions, and that she is capable of translating what she wants on camera.

Elli Deeb, the singer’s husband and business manager, accompanied the Nawal every step of the way while making the clip to ensure that everything was going according to plan.

During a phone interview with the director, Randa revealed that Elli had called her and expressed his desire to have her work with his wife and told her that he and his wife had watched most of Randa’s work and were very impressed with it.

Randa added that an agreement was reached immediately, and when she expressed to Nawal how she felt the clip should be filmed she realized that both had the same vision.

In the clip, Nawal appears in seven different looks, all being elegant and simple matching the character she is playing.
