Lebanese singer Nawal Al Zoughbi is due in Cairo to finish recording the songs for her upcoming album, for which she has not decided upon a production company after her negotiations with Rotana failed.

The singer will then head to Algeria where she will hold two concerts on the 14 and 15 of June, after which will return to Cairo to hold a performance for a leading mobile company.

The singer’s summer schedule is packed with performances around the Arab world and Europe, the highlight of which is her participation in this year’s Jordanian annual summer festival in Jarrash on July 23, after being absent from the festival since 1997, and a grand concert in London on August 21 at the Apollo Hammer Smith Hall.

Elli Deeb, business manager and husband of Nawal, revealed that negotiations between his wife and Rotana Production Company reached a dead end due to Nawal’s refusal to abide by Rotana’s conditions of exclusivity.

Nawal recently terminated her contract with Alam El Phan Production Company, and Deeb stressed that regardless of the company Nawal settles on, she must have complete freedom to distribute her music.

He revealed that the singer’s managing office is consecutively holding negotiations with another major Arab production company that may prove to be fruitful.
