For the first time in their career, Gulf singers Ahlam from the UAE and Nawal from Kuwait will join forces to sing a duet. On May 5, 2006 the new ‘Rotana' music channel that specializes in Gulf music will air the special event on their one year anniversary.

In addition to the duet, each singer will perform a variety of their songs. The channel has witnessed tremendous success it’s first year, reported the channel’s general manager.

According to the London based Elaph, Nawal called Ahlam to come up with a special gift for the channel on its anniversary.  Rumors claim the two singers will dress in green in honor of the channel’s official color.

On a different note, Ahlam has refused to make amends with Syrian singer Asalah, claiming she still has ill intentions.

Ahlam claims Asalah never congratulated her when she was married and had her first child, as reported in several newspapers.

The latest album by Ahlam “Al Thikul San’aa” has witnessed tremendous success.  It has earned its place as one of the highest selling albums produced by ‘Rotana,’ marking the first cooperation between the singer and the company.

The album features 14 songs by a number of prominent composers like Mansour Al Shadi, Badi Mas’oud, and Abdullah Al Jasem.
