Lebanese singer Nelly Maqdasi has just completed filming the music video “Ishtaq” from her latest album “Ana Aih” (What Am I), under the direction of Salim Turk. Nelly is also placing the final touches on her upcoming album produced by Rotana and scheduled for release in June.

According to the London based, Elaph, Nelly has cooperated with a number of prominent composers for her new album, including Prince Turkey Al Sidery, Hani Al Zagheer, and Khaled Al Bakri. The songs of the album are sung in both the Egyptian and Lebanese dialects.

In a recent interview, Nelly revealed that she does not consider herself a provocative singer, and does not intend for her clothing or manner of dance to appear seductive to her fans. The singer stressed that her performance style on stage and in her music videos comes naturally to her, and reflects the way she feels the rhythm of her music.

Nelly noted that the secret behind her success lies in her ability to express her true emotions through her lyrics, making her performance style genuine. She does not support the new wave of female singers who use their appearance alone to gain notoriety, in certain circumstances lacking real talent, she added.

However, the singer explained that it is not wrong for a female singer to extenuate her natural femininity and her beauty as a form of artistic expression.
