Problems between the two Egyptian actresses Nadia Al Jundi and Elham Shahin have been repeating themselves for the past two years when both women had leading roles in the movie “Al Raghba” (Desire). The dispute has been renewed recently because of the Television drama “Mishwar Imra'a” Nadia is currently working on.

The drama “Mishwar Imra'a” (A Woman’s Journey) is being filmed these days in the media production city in Egypt and Elham says she had done the same drama but under a different name back in 1996, the drama was called “wa tabka al-ahzan” and was produced by the private sector.

The funny thing that the male leading role in both dramas was given to Egyptian actor Mustafa Fahmi who did not mention anything about the drama being repeated and he did not complain about repeating himself in both dramas. This makes everyone think that he is looking for work regardless of the subject.

A rumor during shooting of the scene says that Nadia deliberately wanted to do the same role so she can prove to all her fans that she can do the part better than Elham. Another reason was that Elham had done a drama that circles around Nadia's life and career without referring to that directly so Nadia was seeking revenge.

Shahin has publicly announced on a television program that Al Jundi refuses the idea of acting with another leading actress in fear of loosing some of the spotlight. Elham on her turn has vowed that she will never accept any role alongside Nadia.

Elham stressed that despite the fact that she welcomes sharing a leading role with another actress, the case is different with Nadia. Elham added that the fact that Nadia refuses sharing a leading role makes her (Elham) disregard the idea of acting with her.

Recently, Nadia waged a sever attack on Elham publicly on the Lebanese TV channel Future, where she was a guest on the show "Khaleek Bil Bait" (Stay at Home), presented by the Lebanese announcer Zahi Wahbi. Elham, who was outraged with Nadia's comments, decided to fire back and stated to the media that it's probable that Nadia would attack her just to attract attention since she has been without work for the past two years, in other words stressing that she has nothing better to do.

Elham noted that Al Jundi did not get five prizes for her movie "Alragbah" (Desire), stressing that the movie had participated in three festivals in which both of them won two prizes, adding that she won the most important prize which was best actress in the national festival of Egyptian cinema, the thing that made Nadia very angry and jealous. - Albawaba.com
