After his film Marriage With Presidential Decree the comedy star Hani Ramzi comes back with his new film Divorce Lawyer to raise in a comedy style the daily life problems which the simple Egyptian citizen faces.

The film is the third one for the star in his heroic individual career and the first with the most prominent scenarist in the Arab world, Wahid Hamed, under the direction of Mohammed Yasin. Costarring in the series are the two actresses Ola Ghanem and Dalia Mustafa.

“Wahid Hamed is one of the most important screenwriters in the whole Arab world and not Egypt alone. The comedy he writes is always purposeful and tackles important issues, which I am keen on in my films because I have full faith in the role of cinema in change. I also believe that comedy is the best way to make this change and so I become very sad when I hear somebody saying that the films of the new generation and the comedy films are meaningless. This is incorrect as most of our films address a new artistic vision even if the means differ. I personally like to present the attitude comedy and Hamed is the best one who can present such type of comedy,” Ramzi told the daily al Bayan.

“The film is a social study on the Egyptian family problems which may hinder progress and delay us. I am one of the believers that a sound Egyptian society starts from the family and that the problems which families face in Egypt are extremely simple if we look at them with some rationality. The film’s scenes take place within this context. I usually begin with a controversial problem, character or divorce lawyer despite the fact that the film is simple but addresses very important values and issues,” said Hamed.—Albawaba.com
