Lebanese singer/actress Nicole Saba has apologized to prominent Egyptian actress Yusra for not being able to accept the offer to star in her new film “Kalam Fil Hub” (Love Talk), due to the fact that she is occupied with her first solo album, which she released recently. Sources revealed that the real reason Nicole turned down Yusra was because she is looking for a film where she plays the leading role and one that does not depend on her looks or her being seductive.

According to the Egyptian based daily, Al Gomhouryia, Nicole stressed that she is looking for a role that will bring out her real acting talents and dose not depend on her outside appearance. She added that the role in Yusra’s film will not achieve her goal and so she decided to turn it down.

It was added that negotiations between Nicole and the makers of the film did not succeed due to the fact that the singer/actress demanded that alterations be made to the script to make her role more of a major rather than just a minor one.

Nicole stressed that she refuses to accept any role if it does not add to her acting career, at the same time she refuses to have a minor role in any film reflect negatively on her singing career.

Saba has been nominated for a number of films, which she will choose one to mark her second cinematic experience and hopefully achieve as much success as her first film “Al Tajruba Al Denmarkia” (A Dutch Experience) alongside Egyptian comedian-actor Adel Imam.

O of the films that Nicole has been nominated for is (45 Days) alongside Egyptian actress Hanan Turk and a number of other young actors. It has been rumored that Nicole had accepted the role in the film due to the fact that the story attracted her attention, and she feels it will add tremendously to her acting career.

Nicole has been refusing all offers to star in films and television dramas, stressing that she wanted to concentrate her attention on her singing career and wants to ensure that her first album will find the success she is hoping for.

Saba has recently released her first solo music video for the song “Yali Shaghilni Beek” (I’m Occupied with you) under the direction of Nadine Labky. The director decided to present Nicole in a new style, which has not been used, as a secretary from the sixties.

The song is part of Nicole’s first solo album, which the singer hopes will mark her return to the singing world. Nicole placed the final touches on her album in Cairo. Alam El Phan produces the album “Ya Shaghilni Aineedk”, which features ten songs. –Albawaba.com
