No love between Assi Hilani and Nancy Ajram
Lebanese singer Assi Hilani has denied recent circulating rumors that he will be holding a duet with Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram. Assi stressed that the news holds no validity and that he does intend on holding a duet with a female singer, but will not reveal her identity, stressing that it will be the surprise of the season.
It was rumored that Ajram and Assi had completed the recording of a new duet under the name of “Aam El Hub” (Year of Love), which was written by Saudi poet Turkey AL Sidairy and composed by Samir Safir. The song was also to be included in a new CD to be released by Rotana Music Production Company, which will feature a number of duets by other famous singers.
The news also had it that the song was even filmed in the form of a music video and is scheduled for release on all Arab satellite music channels in the very near future. It has been revealed that a personal phone call was made to the business office of both singers to inquire about the existence of the new duet and each office gave a contradicting answer to the other a matter which made the news of the song questionable.
Hilani has just completed the recording of a new song “Umi” (My Mother), and released it on Mother’s Day as a special dedication to his mother and all mothers in the world. The singer felt that he can best describe his love to his mother through a song showing how thankful he is to have her.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, the singer has recently returned from Australia, after receiving a special invitation to hold concerts by Arabs living there, and immediately begun preparations for his upcoming album. Assi has held extensive work sessions with a number of Lebanese composers for his new album such as Tareq Abu Jood and Jan Mary Riashi. –Albawaba.com
