Egyptian actor Nour El Sharif is about to undergo his third directing experience with a new film, depicting the story of the late Bishop Cappucci, who played a major role in resisting the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
According to Al Khaleej newspaper, Cappucci had been at the head of various patriotic operations on Syrian and Palestinian soil, against the Israeli occupation, nearly 40 years ago.
Sharif has decided that shooting will take place in various Syrian, Egyptian and Palestinian towns during the middle of next year.
The character of Cappucci will be played by Egyptian star, Faruq Al Fishawi.
Sharif has also nominated great names from the industry for his movie, including Huda Sultan, Mahmmoud Yassin, Poussy, Raghda, Yusra and many more.
Meanwhile, Fishawi expressed his great joy in playing the role of the great man and to shed light on an important time in Arab resistance.
The actor also added that such a responsibility should lie on the heads of every artist concerned with the fight for the liberation of Jerusalem and other occupied Arab lands.
It is important to not e that Bishop Cappucci is still alive and lives in Italy.
The writer of the script, Muhsen Ziad is aiming to finish writing before the end of January/February of next year. He added that the script holds many surprises for the Arab audience, especially for the new generations, who do not know the level of resistance that the Palestinian people in order to win back their land.
On another note, the late Egyptian actor Rushdi Abatha had started filming a movie on the life of the Bishop with the late director Hussam Eddine Mustafa, but the actor died after filming only the first scene and the sentimental director refused to give the role to anyone else.
Nour El Sharif’s debut directing experience was with the film, Al Ashiqan (The Two Lovers), which starred the actor himself alongside his actress wife, Poussy. – Albawaba.com.
