Nour El Sharif quits
Prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sharif suddenly decided to withdrawal from an episode of "Radio Star," aired on a local Egyptian channel.
The actor was shocked when he discovered that the program was not as he had anticipated, and that the producers had kept certain details from him in order to have him agree to star in it.
According to the London based Elaph, Nour discovered that the episodes of the program were filmed in advance, and he had only a minor role. The comedy consists of a group of little known, young actors, and the producer of the show felt it necessary to include a well known actor like Nour in order to attract more viewers.
On a different note, Nour has been granted an honorary PhD in literature from Middlebury University in Vermont, in the United States.
"You have decided to challenge the world with your art, and the world is always progressing with your talents," the dean told Nour at the university’s graduation ceremony. The event featured a number of books about Nour’s life, and great achievements as an actor.
"Mr. Sharif, it gives me great honor to present you with this PhD in Literature, for you have proved to be one of the most notable actors and directors in the world," stated the university professor who awarded Nour his PhD.
Nour will return to the cinema in the new film "Baligh Abook ini Imwafga" (Tell Your Father that I Approve), and is currently looking for the right female actor to star alongside him in the new romantic comedy.
