Prominent Egyptian actor Nour El Sherif has agreed to take the leading role in an upcoming historical religious drama for next Ramadan about the life and achievements of religious figure “Amro Ibn Alaas”. Nour will portray Amro’s life from the moment he came into the religion Islam with Khalid Ibn Al Waleed and his great quest to spread Islam throughout the Arab world. The drama will exhibit Amro’s military expertise in conquering and fighting the enemy to return Egypt to its rightful people along with many adventurous risks that could have cost him his life, the UAE based daily Al Bayan reported.
The daily reported that accidentally the scriptwriter Sami Ghaneem lost the script for final episode of the drama and is no where to be found. If the script does not appear Sami will be forced to rewrite the scenes for the final episode all over again.
It is worth noting that this Nour was chosen for the job due to his success in taking on roles of historical religious figures in the past.
El Sherif is to begin shooting scenes for the drama after he completes his work for his upcoming movie “Ghadab” (Anger) by Yousuf Shahin, which is to last three months. The movie will be shot between France and the US with scenes from Paris, New York, and California. The story of the film is about an Egyptian director who has lived in the United States from the beginning of his film education up to the September 11th attack.
Noor Al Sherif met with screenwriter Mustafa Moharram and director Mohammed al Naqli in this Ramadan in the series “Al Attar wa al Sabe’ Banat” (The Spice Trader and the Seven Girls), in which he played two different characters. Playing the character of the father ‘Al Hag Saleh’ and the son ‘Abdul Rahman’, who carries the profession of spice trading after his father’s death. Al Sherif delivered a new vision about family life amid the cultural and social changes over the years.
After the huge success of his last TV series “A’elat Al Hag Mitwalli” (Mitwalli’s Family), Al Sherif captured television viewers once again as he did last Ramadan.
Noor Al Sherief’s first appearance on the screen was more than 30 years ago. In 1967 he played the role of Kamal Abdul Jawwad, a trilogy by Nobel Prize winner Najeeb Mahfouz. From that date onwards, his ability to stand in front of the camera improved no end.
