In the next few days, Oman Television begins its production of the Omani series (Colors of Love and Sadness), in an attempt to establish the notion of Omani drama which is distinguished of its multiplicity of characters and ideas.
This series is the first to be produced in the year 2002 and it is scheduled to be shown during the next Ramadan. The writer and director of the series Mahbob Musa told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) on Monday that the series is considered a new dramatic experience, which will provide the viewer with a rich mixture of fancy and reality as well as comedy and tragedy.
He added that “the series constitutes a panoramic vision of various models, by which it builds interesting dramatic ideas. Those dramatic ideas are not concerned of providing solutions, as much as they are concerned of exploring the psychological dimension of those models as well as their worlds.”
Musa indicated that the series, just like any other dramatic work, is not an exact copy of a certain reality but rather a re-embodiment of this reality within an artistic framework. “Oman Television’s production of this series is part of the new release of Omani drama, that tries to prepare for more than one work,” mentioned Musa.
He pointed that the work on this series will take seventy days. Musa explained that a number of Oman’s famous actors and actresses will participate in this series, such as Fakhria Khamees, Ameena Abdul Rasoul, Mohammed Noor, in addition to others from Bahrain. “The aim of the series is to acquaint the viewer with the beauties of Oman as well as to expose the touristic and investment aspects of Oman,” said the director – Albawaba.com
