Omar Al Sherif, Hussein Fahmi, Mervat Amin to Meet Behind Radio Microphone

Egyptian star Omar Al Sherif will hold the Radio microphone to take the starring role in the series Off Side which the Egyptian Youth and Sports Broadcasting Service will broadcast next Ramadan, according to the daily Al Ahram. 

Sherif will return to Radio after a long hiatus since he starred in the series Al Hobb Al Daea’ (Lost Love) directed by the late director Mohammed U’lwan for the Middle East Broadcasting Corp. 

The series will bring together Hussein Fahmi and Mervat Amin for the first time since they separated. Costarring in the series also the renowned actress Karima Mukhtar and young actor Ahmed Al Fishawi. 

With this series, the director of the Production Department, Medhat Zaki, returns to Radio, his original home, as a director of many radio programs hits the last of which has been the 1000-episode series Kitab Arabi A’llam Al A’alam (Arabic Book that Taught the World) which is still underway. 

The head of Youth and Sports Network, Osama Sayyed, told the daily that the series focuses on prominent radio drama writers, stars and directors who still captivate the audience.  

He added that the network also will broadcast another series Warana A’lal Maazoun (Follow us to the Marriage Official) in Ramadan costarring a number of young stars. The series was scripted by Ahmed Afifi and directed by Abdel Maqsoud Mohammed and costarring Hassan Hosni, Mohsinah Tawfiq, Muna Zaki, Hani Ramzi, Sherif Munir, Mohammed Saad and Yasmin Abdel Aziz – Albawaba.com
