The <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Egyptian Media Production City has reached an agreement with the American production company KBN to produce a joint magnificent cartoon film. The film will be taken from the story of Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves. According to the agreement, the American company will take on the responsibility of advertising for the film in the West, where as the Egyptian company will promote the film around the Arab world.
The film will mark the first joint cartoon film between Egypt and an international company. Prominent Egyptian actor Omar El Sherif has been nominated to be the voice of one of the major characters in the film alongside a number of internationally well-known stars.
Recently, famous scenarist Atef Bashai held extensive negotiations with Omar and retired actress Lubna Abdul Aziz to obtain their approval to star in his new film “Qissat Hob Hakeekia” (A True Love Story) a movie that is expected to be a surprise to all Arab viewers. The movie will be filmed in several European cities in addition to Cairo, but no director was nominated yet.
