Rising Syrian singer Ruwaida Attieh has finally set the release date for her first album "Min Nazra" (At First Glance) to be on April 28, 2004. The new singer has just completed filming her first music video directed by
Basem Kristo, and plans to release it along with her album.
The video clip will be for the song "ta3ebt ma3ak" and is to be produced by Shams Production Company. Bassem revealed that the main idea of the clip is to portray the actual movement of the sun and how it goes from daylight to complete darkness. The directed added that with every light change the decoration changes with special camera and filming effects that create unique scenes.
The different looks of Ruwaida throughout the clip are done by Tony Mindaleq and make up by Rola Riyashi. The filming site was a factory which was equipped to suit the atmosphere of the clip. Basem kristo stressed that Ruwaida was very convincing in her acting and is very realistic in the clip. Ruwaida has been taking acting lessons by the actress Taqla Sham3on in order to be able to convince her audience and portray the character in the clip with complete honesty.
The singer recently arrived in Beirut after holding a concert in Syria at the Elderly Club. Ruwaida had received an invitation by prominent singer Mayada Al Hinawi to exclusively sing with her in the concert. Ruwaida's trip to Beirut was mainly to film the video clip, which lasted two days. Ruwaida had attempted to keep all details of her new album a secret including plans of filming two songs from her new album in the form of a video clip.
Ruwaida also plans on holding a big ceremony in celebration of her new album and will sign CDs and autograph. The ceremony is also scheduled to be broadcasted live on the Lebanese satellite television channel "Future".
In an interview recently held with Jordanian singer Diana Karazon, who is also known as the Arab superstar, she commented that she strongly believes that her colleague Melhem Zein, who was a contestant with her on the first season of the popular show Super Star, had been under Syrian pressure when he called on his fan to vote to Ruwaida during the final episode of the show. Zein had previously explained that the reason behind his action is the mere fact that he and Ruwaida have a very strong friendship and he wanted her to win.
On her part, Rwaida replied to Diana's comments by saying that she respects Diana a great deal but she is astonished to hear such claims. "Besides if there was any Syrian pressure involved, why hadn't' I won the contest," adding that she and Melhem do not control Syrian Lebanese relations. We are artists who are looking for fame in all Arab countries and we have nothing to do with politics." Rowaida added. –Albawaba.com
