Operetta Al Petra draws Arab celebrities
Arab celebrities are gathering in Amman Jordan for the Operetta that will be held in celebration of Jordanian Independence Day, according to the British daily Elaph.
Jordanian producer Muhammad Al Majali, manager of ‘Al Amal Production Company,’ said the final touches are being placed on the performance.
During the event guests will have the opportunity to vote for the ancient city of Petra as one of the ‘seven wonders of the world.’
Musicians Ayman Abdullah and Omar El Abdolat are also working on the project.
The music event, scheduled for Thursday, is produced by ‘Al Amal Production Company’ and will be held at an open arena at the ‘Jordanian Television Garden.’ The event will be aired on the Jordanian channel.
Al Majali and Al Abdolat said they received strong support from the Tourism Ministry and the Jordanian channel to make the event a success.
There will be eight Arab singers who will perform at the event - Egyptian singer Muhammad Munir, Lebanese singer Wa’el Jasar, Algerian singer Fulah, Saudi singer Waed, Lebanese singer Amal Hijazi, Emirate singer Abdullah Belkhair, and Saudi singer Talal Salmeh.
Several famous guests are expected, such as Syrian actor Sulaf Fawakhirji, Wael Ramadan, and Egyptian actors Husein Fahmi, Noor EL Sharif, Nabilah Obeid, Ashraf Abed El Baqi, Shireen Rida, Laila Ilwi, and Jomana Murad.
Syrian actor Basam Kosa, Qusai Kholi, and Shokran Martiji are also on the list.
Journalists such as Nishan, Nidal Al Ahmadeh, and Mustafa Bakri will be on hand to cover the action.
Producer Muhsen Jabir, owner of “Alam Al Phan Production Company’ will also attend alongside ‘Al Mazika’ satellite channel.
Singers began arriving early this week and celebrity guests will arrive on Wednesday.
Several guests said they were honored to be invited and they hope that Petra will succeed in being named the next ‘world wonder.’
