The current ‘Al Aqsa Intifada’ has resulted in a rise of sales for one of Egypt’s Ramadan series, entitled Nisr El Sharq (Falcon of the East), a historical piece, which revolves around the legendary Arab leader, Salah Eddine El Ayoubi.

According to Al Sharq El Awsat newspaper, 28 different Arab satellite channels have already bought the rights to air the series.

The story revolves around the time when Salah Eddine fought and won back Jerusalem from the Crusaders.

The series depicts, in detail, the strategies that the leader took in order to win back the Holy site, including the battle of Hateen, when Salah Eddine beat the crusaders, took back Jerusalem and gave his people the freedom of worship.

Meanwhile, the series was written by Mohammad Al Salamouni and it stars Leila Fawzi, Fayza Kamal, Tayseer Fahmi, Sawsan Badr and many more famous names.

Sadly, the director of the movie, Hussam Eddine Mustafa, died before he completed the series. However, assistant director Estefan Munir took over the project and completed the filming. – Albawaba.com.
