Egyptian actor Poussy has refused to comment publicly regarding the reasons behind her divorce from actor Nour El Sharif, after a 33-year marriage. The actress stressed that the matter is strictly personal.

Poussy did state that she is living a normal life and that her relationship with Nour cannot be easily forgotten, adding that the two will always remain good friends. She will not allow anyone to speak negatively about Nour or to make wrongful accusations about him and the reasons behind their divorce, she asserted.

The actress stated that Nour visits his daughters on a regular basis and she never intends to restrict his parental visits. She added that her daughters are old enough to understand that their parents divorce does not mean the end of their close relationship with their father.

Prominent Egyptian actor Salah Al Sa'dani tried unsuccessfully to bring Nour and Poussy back together. Salah began his attempts after Nour returned from the Berlin Film Festival.  He sat with Nour and Poussy, listening to each side of the story in an effort to find a common ground.

Prominent Egyptian actor Hussein Fahmi refused to interfere, stressing that he did not want to involve himself in extremely personal matters.

Nour confirmed that the two had divorced, without giving any clear reasons for the split.  He explained that he had at first denied his divorce in order to postpone the negative publicity, in an effort to protect his daughters.

Sources have revealed that one possible reason behind the divorce is that Nour had an intimate relationship with another woman, young Tunisian actress Sandi.  Sandi came to Cairo four years ago searching for an opportunity in the acting world.
