With war around the corner, Syrian actress Raghda decided to produce a film that portrays the expected sufferings of the Iraqi children and the consequences of a war. The film begins with the theme of Christmas and panoramic scenes of Baghdad going into one of the churches with a story told by an actual priest.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, the leading role of the film is given to a young boy who witnesses the death of thousands of Iraqi children since the 1991 Gulf War up to today. The film will be translated into English to be aired on several western stations. The goal is to educate the world with the hazardous consequences war has and how the damage caused is eternal on the people who survive it.
Raghda has been traveling to Iraq constantly in the past period to become more acquainted with the people and listen to their side of the story on how war has basically destroyed their lives.
On a different note, last year Raghda starred in a radio series called ‘Jarat al Qamar’ (Neighbor of the Moon) portraying the life of the prominent Lebanese singer - Fairouz. The series is produced in cooperation with Mohammad Wafiq, Abdul Rahman Abu Zahra, writer Mahmoud Qasim, and is directed by Issam Al Iraqi. –Albawaba.com
