Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama, Razan Moughrabi and Spanish international singer Julio Iglesias Junior are currently holding extensive work sessions to choose the words for a new trio they will hold together. The new song will be a combination of English, French, and Arabic, and is scheduled to be out by early January 2004.

According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Razan revealed that the song will be featured in her upcoming first album, which she has completed choosing most of the songs for. The new album consists of mainly rap songs.

Razan had added that she received two film offers to star in, but she stressed that she is putting the idea of acting off for now until her album is released. She added that she had received a promise from Egyptian singer Amr Diab to sing a duet with her on the condition that her first album proves to be a success.

Razan recently had Ragheb as a guest on her show "Fantazia", which broadcasts on the MBC satellite television channel. In the episode Razan surprised her guest by singing one of his songs changing the words around. Upon hearing Razan sing, Ragheb was shocked by her capabilities and called on artist Ihsan Al Munther to support her and take her immediately to the recording studios where she belongs.

It was recently reported that Egyptian director Saed Hindawi had announced that Razan did not pull out of his film “Halit Hub”, but was rather stripped of the role for her lacking the talent to act. The director had at first put Razan under a number of acting tests and the end results were that she failed miserably and is not the least bit capable of acting.

Saed immediately removed Razan’s name from the cast of the film and replaced her with the actress Donia. It was previously rumored that Razan had made the decision to pull out of film due to the fact that she was unable to get a vacation from her previously scheduled television work. Razan was to begin shooting the scenes for the new film alongside Egyptian actors Hani Salama, Sharif Ramzi, and Tamer Husni.

Razan denied circulating rumors that she is involved in a love relationship with Egyptian singer Tamer Husni. Razan stressed that what ties her with Tamer is a very good friendship and nothing more, adding that these rumors are all mere lies. The reason behind the creation of such rumors is due to the fact that on Razan’s last visit to Egypt she had met with Tamer and the two were seen together in public. Razan revealed that she is in fact involved in a serious relationship with someone, but it is not Tamer and she refuses to give out any details regarding his identity.

This New Year's Eve, Ragheb will hold a special concert alongside Lebanese singers Haifa Wahbi and Nancy Ajram. The trio will hold their performance at the Bell Center in the heart of Beirut.

Ragheb has revealed that he is in the process of shooting a new music video for the song "Laialina" (Our Nights), which is scheduled to be aired on all local and satellite television channels after the Muslim Eid Holiday. Ragheb is also busy these days with finalizing the songs for his upcoming album, in addition to shooting a new television commercial for Samsung Electronics mobile phones.

Alama has been presented with the Golden Lion Award in Egypt from Egyptian journalist Samir Ragab. The award is presented by the Egyptian magazine "Huriyati" for the best Arab singer for the year 2003.

The singer was given the award at a big celebration that was held specifically for the occasion in which he expressed his honor at receiving the award stressing that it marks a step forward in his career. The singer sang a number of new and old songs as a way of showing his appreciation to the organizers of the big event.

Samsung Electronics, the global leader in digital technology, has recently held extensive negotiations with Ragheb, both sides have reached an agreement to have Ragheb be the official spokesperson for the company. Ragheb has signed a contract for one year to shoot different television commercials for Samsung advertising their different line of mobile phones. –Albawaba.com
