Ragheb Alameh to George W. Bush: Muslims are not terrorists
Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama has sent out a letter to US President, George W. Bush, telling him that if a Muslim had committed a terrorist act that does not imply that all Muslims are terrorists. The singer sent out his letter at a press conference he held in Bahrain, where he is scheduled to hold a concert.
Ragheb added that the Islamic religion is against all acts of terror and teaches how to be good and peace loving, and it is a shame to refer to the religion and the entire Arab population as supporters of terrorism, reported the Qatar based daily, Al Raya. The singer stressed that Muslims and Arabs strongly support the fight against terrorism and not the contrary.
The singer ended his conference calling on everyone to support the idea of unifying peace and asked for an immediate stop to the violence that is taking the lives of innocent people around the Arab world, particularly in Iraq and Palestine.
Syrian singer Nancy Za'balawi, who was a former finalist in the Lebanese satellite channel Future show Superstar, has accepted an offer from Ragheb to sing a duet with him by the beginning of next year, after Ragheb expressed his admiration with her voice.
Nancy agreed to the duet without a doubt, knowing that it would be her ticket to stardom and popularity. The singer added that she is not thinking of producing an album at the current time and is busy holding numerous concerts around the Arab world. Nancy was eliminated from the show Superstar in its early stages, but is marked for having a very strong and powerful voice.
With regards to Ragheb, he recently announced that he has agreed to enter the world of television advertisement and will soon shoot his first commercial. The singer revealed that the commercial will be for one of the cellular telephone companies in which he has signed an agreement with. Ragheb also noted that he is currently holding extensive work sessions with director Sharif Sabri for the filming of a new music video from his latest album. The singer did not reveal any details regarding the music video and stressed that it will be a surprise to his audience hoping that it will meet their expectations.
Alama has for the past 20 years of his life given all he has to his singing career and proved that he is capable of remaining on top regardless of the enormous number of new singers appearing on the scenes. The singer has contributed so much to his career and up to this day remains adamant on always presenting the best songs written and composed by some of the most prominent poets and composers.
Ragheb has stressed in a personal interview that he always strives to improve himself and always present what his audience wants. He stated that he has come to learn that in order to make it in the music industry one must live by the old saying "Survival of Fittest", or else a singer will not succeed. Ragheb added that with the increase in competition these days, one must be smart on what he offers to his/her fans, making sure that what is being presented will go through to people's hearts. –Albawaba.com
