The young Lebanese pianist Rami Khalifa, son of Marcel Khalifa, released his first CD about a concert he performed last year. The CD includes works for Mozart and Rafael.
Khalifa showed his love for jazz music through a group of improvisations inspired from the classic music experiences in the second half of the twentieth century. And beginning of this century hinting to the impressionist period.
The CD outlines the classical music in all its ages, which Rami did very well by moving from one stage to another.
From Barouk with Bach, Rami moves to Classic with Mozart (where transparency and in depth are highlighted). He passes by romance with Brams and much deep sadness until he reaches impressionism in France with Rafael and descriptive music, to Broko Vieve and the twentieth century in the post Russian romance era and renaissance in music expression. This is in addition to expressing the temporary feelings in the improvisations which Rami concluded his work with.
Rami’s openness to other types of music prompted him to come close to jazz music and show his talent in improvisation. So he established along with a number of artists the Spring Seven Troupe which played at many clubs in Paris especially the jazz music
Rami’s father has been accompanying him for the past two years on his international tours including Middle East, North Africa, Europe and the United States -- Albawaba.com
