In an interview recently held with Jordanian singer Diana Karazon, who is also known as the Arab superstar, she commented that she strongly believes that her colleague Melhem Zein, who was a contestant with her on the first season of the popular show Super Star, had been under Syrian pressure when he called on his fan to vote to Syrian Ruwaida Attiah during the final episode of the show. Zein had previously explained that the reason behind his action is the mere fact that he and Ruwaida have a very strong friendship and he wanted her to win.

On her part, Rwaida replied to Diana's comments by saying that she respects Diana a great deal but she is astonished to hear such claims. "Besides if there was any Syrian pressure involved, why hadn't' I won the contest," adding that she and Melhem do not control Syrian Lebanese relations. We are artists who are looking for fame in all Arab countries and we have nothing to do with politics." Rowaida added.

Attia recently arrived in Beirut after holding a concert in Syria at the Elderly Club. Ruwaida had received an invitation by prominent singer Mayada Al Hinawi to exclusively sing with her in the concert.

Ruwaida is expected to start filming her musical video clip during the upcoming week. The clip is to be directed by Mirna and Tony Abu Elias, and the filming will take place shortly before the release of her first musical album. Ruwaida had attempted to keep all details of her new album a secret including plans of filming two songs from her new album in the form of a video clip.

Ruwaida also plans on holding a big ceremony in celebration of her new album and will sign CDs and autograph. The ceremony is also scheduled to be broadcasted live on the Lebanese satellite television channel "Future". –Albawaba.com
