Director Sharif Sabri has confirmed that all rumors concerning Egyptian singer Ruby’s participation in a new film or television drama are untrue, and that she will not appear in any feature outside of his production and direction.

Sharif added that Ruby has declined numerous offers to star in different works because they are not in accord with the plan he has set for her to become a superstar.

According to the London based Elaph, Sharif stated that he has only approved one potential offer for Ruby outside of his sphere, which is a staring role in an upcoming film by prominent Egyptian director Yousif Shahin.

Sabri revealed that a few weeks ago, he had received a personal phone call from Yousif in which he hinted to the possibility of nominating Ruby for a role in his upcoming film.

Sharif noted that he holds high respect for Shahin and believes that an opportunity for Ruby to act in one of his films is a major step forward in her career.

Ruby’s first appearance on the big careen was in one of Yousif’s films, “Sukoot Hansawar” (Quiet we will Film), alongside Tunisian singer Latifa, in which she played her daughter.

Ruby is scheduled to hold a number of summer concerts outside of Egypt, a precedent for her career. The first performance will take place in Jordan alongside Lebanese singer Wael Kfoury, and she will also hold performances in Syria, Lebanon, and possibly Tunisia.
