Rula Shamyeh refuses nude scenes
Lebanese actress Rula Shamyeh started her successful acting career in a comedy series, entering the hearts of many. She is known for playing the role of the woman who has control over her man.
Recently Rula starred in the film “Abu Riyad Meen Ado” (Abu Riyad no one is like him). The film, directed by Naser Faqih, also stars Lebanese actors Adel Karam and Abbas Shaheen.
Rula played a minor role in the film as a gang member who tries to steal a map from ‘Abu Riyad.’ Rula explained that the film was not shown in Egyptian theaters because it was filmed in a Lebanese dialect, and many Egyptians would not understand the jokes.
According to the London daily Elaph, Rula stated that she would love to star in an Egyptian drama. She was nominated to star in the Egyptian drama series “Damir Abla Hikmat” (Principle of Hikmat’s Dignity) with the famous Egyptian actress Faten Hamama, but was only thirteen years old at the time and her parents refused the offer. She would have had to stay in Egypt on her own during the filming.
Rula said that she hates how Lebanese actresses and singers are chosen to star in Egypt movies for seductive scenes, appearing almost nude. The Egyptian film producers are more concerned with their looks than their acting ability. Rula said that she “wouldn’t be caught dead” starring in a film for her body; she wants to be chosen because of her talent and nothing else.
