Syrian singer Ruwaida Attieh is preparing to release her second album, which she has already completed recording the songs for. Ruwaida worked with a number of prominent poets and composers of which is Salah Al Sharnoubi, whom Ruwaida revealed that working with him is a dream come true for her.

The singer revealed that she has not yet decided on a title for the album, but plans on recording four songs in the form of a music video. Ruwaida noted that she put all her feelings in the album, which songs are mostly sung in the Egyptian accent, to make it of the highest standards.

Ruwaida admitted that the fame she has acquired this past year scares her because it puts a heavy load on her shoulders and demands that she must live up to people’s expectations. She added that she loves the idea of fame, but does not allow herself to be carried away by it.

According to the London based daily, Dar Al Hayat, Ruwaida noted that she does not mind being criticized about her constant change of appearance. She stressed that an artist must always be presented in a new look, but what matters to her most is that people love her for her voice not her looks.

Ruwaida, who started her career on the popular program Arab Superstar, recently called off her tour around the United States of America and Canada due to the assassination of former Lebanese PM Rafiq Al Hariri. Ruwaida stressed that she could not find it in her heart to hold any performances at the time especially due to the fact that her popularity had kicked off on the Lebanese satellite television channel Future, which is owned by Hariri.

Previously Ruwaida had entered the acting world in the Lebanese film “Al Bosta” alongside prominent Lebanese singer Sabah, who made a guest appearance in the film. Ruwaida appeared in two scenes in addition to singing two songs.
